Funding for voluntary and amateur activities |
 |
 |
 |
Making Music is aware that fundraising of whatever kind is vital to the activities of many of its member groups and this section aims to give some brief information on what funding sources are available to voluntary and amateur groups. Though the information in this section is by no means exhaustive, it should prove to be a good starting point for newcomers and reference area for those already engaged in fundraising.
By following the headings below you can access information on the following sources of funding:
- The Arts Council
'Grants for the Arts' are the first choice for most arts organisations looking for funding, and they provide a simple and quick method of applying.
- Lottery funding
For both small and large-scale projects. One key criteria for all lottery funding is 'additionality', i.e. that the project applied for should be additional to your core activities and concert season.
- Trusts and Foundations
A small selection of some of the better known sources of private funding through trusts and foundations
- Contacts
Your local Regional Development Officer and Regional Committee can provide experienced guidance on finding funding, from helping complete application forms, to tracking down unusual local trusts.
