What is the adopt-a-composer scheme and when can I apply? |
| |
The adopt-a-composer programme, supported by the PRS Foundation, gives voluntary music groups the opportunity to work closely on a new piece of music with an emerging composer. Composers are drawn from the shortlist of spnm, the Society for the Promotion of New Music, and are paired with amateur performing groups in membership of Making Music. Each new work is developed by the composer and musicians in partnership over a period of months, culminating in a performance during one of the group's concerts.
Applications from members of Making Music to participate in the programme are requested towards the middle of each calendar year and details will be found on this website and in the April edition of Making Music News. Composers should contact spnm on 020 7407 1640 or www.spnm.org.uk for further information on taking part. |
