The Sir Charles Groves Prize 2007
Howard Goodall
As composer, Howard has become a household name through the TV themes for Blackadder, Mr Bean, The Vicar of Dibley and many others. As a presenter, he has fronted such shows as BBC Choir of the Year, Howard Goodall´s Organ Works and Howard Goodall´s Big Bangs. But it is his championing of music education, and in particular of singing in schools, that the Board felt was most worthy of the prize. Many congratulations to Howard, and we are looking forward to presenting the prize at a suitably prestigious event next year.
