Play it Again
BBc Play it again A BBC series of opportunites for our groups
Play it Again gave six brave celebrities the opportunity to take up the challenge to learn a new instrument.

Each programme culminated in a grand performance. The series ran from Sunday 25 March to Sunday 29 April and was screened on BBC1.

The series gave Making Music groups the chance to get involved, either by hosting a Play it Again taster session or attending an existing event.

Events were publicised with the BBC, presenting a great opportunity to raise groups' profile and engage with a new audience.

What were the events?
Running from April to July, Play it Again events gave participants the chance to play or sing with one of the BBC performing groups around the country.

They were free to all adults and children over 8 years of age.

How did people get involved?
Making Music member groups registered at an event by sending us an email using the contacts below.

Other groups made themselves heard within their local community by staging their own Play it Again event. This maximised their chances of all the right people turning up for some fun. New members were found, local press courted and curious ears satisfied.

Where and when?
The events ran up and down the UK over the course of several months.

Adopt-a-composer   Funding
Every year the adopt-a-composer programme gives voluntary music groups the opportunity to work closely on a new piece of music with an emerging composer.   Funding can be vital to your groups continued success. But how do you get funding and where do you go to get it?
