Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholar Tom Poulson graduated from the RSAMD in 2009 with a BMus Honours (1st Class). During this time he studied with a variety of teachers including Peter Franks and John Wallace and had the opportunity to perform Haydn's Trumpet Concerto with the RSNO, Jolivet's Concertino for Trumpet, Piano and Strings with the BBC SSO as well as recently performing Shostakovich's Concerto for Piano, Trumpet and Strings with the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD)Symphony Orchestra. Tom has won the RSAMD's Concerto Competition, Governor's Recital Prize in Brass and received the Robert McCreath Award. A keen performer of music of all styles Tom has premiered a variety of new works as well as performing baroque works on period instruments. Tom is currently studying a postgraduate diploma at the RSAMD and he is extremely grateful for the support he receives from the John Hosier Trust and RSAMD Trust.
