Jim Johnson

Jim is a chartered accountant with some 40 years experience in a wide variety of senior managerial roles in the industrial, commercial, and education sectors, specialising in business turnarounds and recovery. He has served as Trustee/Finance Director/Company Secretary of the Association of British Choral Directors (abcd) since 2005.

Jim has enjoyed a life-long interest in choral music, and sings with The Wordsworth Singers, Lakeland Opera and Encore Opera Group, and also deputises as Lay Clerk in Carlisle Cathedral choir when required. He has sung many principal operatic roles, including Escamillo/Zuniga (Carmen), Mr Ford (Merry Wives of Windsor), Papageno (The Magic Flute), Barnaba (La Gioconda), Valentin (Faust) and Masetto (Don Giovanni).

Jim and his wife Eve have recently celebrated their Ruby wedding anniversary. They have two sons and two grandchildren.
