Karen Cardy works for the London Symphony Orchestra as Head of Marketing and Centre Director of LSO St Luke's, the UBS and LSO Music Education Centre. She is responsible for branding, marketing strategy and communications at the LSO, where she has worked for nearly ten years. She has a team of 15, nine venue staff and 6 marketers specialising in online, database and community marketing for LSO Discovery (education and community programme), LSO St Luke's (commercial hire and events), LSO Live CDs (branding) and LSO concerts at the Barbican. She is responsible for key partnerships with the Barbican, BBC Radio 3, Classic FM, Corporation of London and UBS.
Karen previously worked for BBC Proms, BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Radio 3 and Faber Music in marketing and publishing roles. She is volunteer Marketing Director for Making Music and undertakes training sessions for ABO, AMA, RCM, City and Sussex universities. In her free time she sings with the Lea Singers and has singing lessons with Debbie Miles Johnson.
