Top tips for running a charity (Manchester)

Discussion, advice and top tips to help you understand the requirements of being a charity and manage the workload.

Almost all of our member groups are legally considered to be a charity, whether or not they are registered with the Charity Commission. But what does this mean for you?

From writing your constitution, to registering with the Commission and reporting on public benefit, we’ve got advice and resources on the legal requirements and best practice of being a charity.

Who should attend this event?
Anyone is welcome to come to this event, but it will be particularly relevant to committee members of leisure-time music groups. 

We’ll talk about:

  • What defines a charity?
  • What are the benefits of being a charity?
  • How charities are monitored and what laws apply
  • What is public benefit, and how to report on it
  • Anything else that comes up on the topic!
