About the event:
Picking up on the discussion in the last Climate Change Network meeting in November, we are hoping that music groups will come and share where they have found or are looking for funding for climate-related projects, e.g. commissioning specific repertoire, changing their practice, etc.
Matthew Elderton-Lewis, conductor and composer, will come and speak about a project he is putting together at the moment which he is calling EcoMelodies, focussed on repertoire, concerts and how to engage audiences in the climate change conversation.
Alice Nicolay, Senior Officer Environmental Responsibility at Arts Council England, will talk about what funding might be available for your group’s climate change related projects, including an overview of the ACE Environmental Responsibility Investment Principle.
We will also be talking more about how and what to communicate with your audiences and participants about your environmental ambitions and achievements, and how to inspire others to follow in your footsteps. Act Green 2024, conducted by Indigo every year, is also looking for organisations to survey their audiences between end of April and end of May, and we will tell you more about that.
As ever, the network is a forum for attendees to share their challenges, their bright ideas, their practical tips and their repertoire or project suggestions. Come to be part of the movement of those groups, like yours, looking to make a difference - there is more than you think that can be done and you also have more of an influence on your participants and your audiences than you may be aware of.

Who this event is for:
Anyone with an interest in tackling climate change from a music group perspective is welcome to attend this event.
As our events are in high demand, we are requesting that only one person per group books to attend, to allow as many different groups as possible to benefit.
Cost: FREE for members and non-members
We will be using Zoom to host the meeting, and will email you the joining link and again two hours before the event is due to start.
