Adopt a Composer
We are delighted to announce that the 2010/2011 scheme is now open! Applications are welcome from performing groups of all shapes and sizes, from anywhere in the UK. Six groups will be selected and will each be paired with contemporary composers, who will spend time with the group and write a piece of music based on their needs and ideas, and subsequently help with its rehearsal and performance.
It is a wonderful opportunity for an orchestra, choir or band to have a piece of new music written especially for them. The project is funded by the PRS for Music Foundation, and costs nothing for the group involved. It is run in partnership with Sound and Music.
The collaborations last for about a year and culminate in the group performing the premiere of the work. To read more about the scheme click here for an information sheet.
