Awards FAQs

1st Subsection
What is the Adopt a Composer scheme and when can I apply?
The Adopt a Composer programme, supported by the PRS for Music Foundation, gives voluntary music groups the opportunity to work closely on a new piece of music with an emerging composer. Composers are drawn from the shortlist of Sound and Music, and are paired with amateur performing groups in membership of Making Music. Each new work is developed by the composer and musicians in partnership over a period of months, culminating in a performance during one of the group's concerts.

Applications from members of Making Music to participate in the programme are requested in May each year. They are now closed for 2010. Composers should contact Sound and Music on 020 7759 1800 or www.soundandmusic.org for further information on taking part.
