Regional Development Officers
Rebecca Stickland, East Midlands
A graduate from the university of Liverpool with a degree in geography Becky spent several years working as a researcher before working in East Africa for various NGO's (non-governmental organization) and small charities. On return to the UK in 2005 she continued in the development field working as a community development officer at Voluntary Action Leicester.
"Since moving to the East Midlands I've worked with a wide range of voluntary and community organisations supporting and advising in all matters relating to organisational development. From writing constitutions, registering charities, project planning, policy writing and the good old issues of funding and finances."
Becky is delighted to be able to use her skills to support music making in the region as her preference and interest has always lain in the arts, specifically music. Whilst in Tanzania she organised a community festival attended by several thousand people which sealed my dedication to bringing live music to as many people as possible. She plays the piano, guitar and is teaching herself the art of the penny whistle. She is involved with various voluntary music organisations particularly supporting musicians from outside of the UK.
Making Music and music making aside she loves her cycling, food and learning new languages.
