Musicians Benevolent Fund Charity Partnership

Making Music has formed a new charity partnership with the Musicians Benevolent Fund, which will see the two organisations working together to develop mutually-beneficial activities and projects.

The Musicians Benevolent Fund supports music professionals throughout their working lives who are in need as a result of illness, accident or other misfortune, and in later life, with the challenges that face older people. Like Making Music it also supports talented young musicians to help them to realise their creativity and musical potential through a range of award schemes.

Making Music is committed to helping the Musicians Benevolent Fund to further their work through this partnership, whilst at the same time developing our work and creating more opportunities for our member groups.

The partnership kicks off with a bigger and better young artist scheme for Making Music members, offering a wider range of artists, instruments and voices at preferential rates. The additional artists have been selected from the highly-competitive Musicians Benevolent Fund Postgraduate Performance Awards to complement our Philip and Dorothy Green Award artists and to provide the young musicians with more performance experience and exposure. The Musicians Benevolent Fund relies on donations and the scheme will also help to raise funds for their work.

An official partnership launch event is planned for July.

We will be announcing further strands to our partnership soon.
