Adopt-a-composer
Please note that there is no Adopt-a-Composer project for the 2008/9 season, however we look forward to relaunching it next year.

Adopt-a-Composer is an annual Making Music project. We select six member groups and pair them up with six contemporary composers, who will visit the group and write a piece of music based on their needs and ideas, and subsequently help with its rehearsal and performance.

It is a wonderful opportunity for an orchestra, choir or band to have a piece of new music commissioned especially for them. The project is funded by the Performing Rights Society Foundation for New Music, and costs nothing for the member group involved.

The collaborations last for about a year and culminate in the group performing the premiere of the work.

For more information please contact the Making Music office.
