Stuart Isaac,
Regional Development Officer, Yorkshire

Stuart has been working in Yorkshire and Lancashire since relocating from Milton Keynes in May 2006. Teaching trumpet, piano and music theory to both children and adults for almost thirty years, he has become increasingly involved with community development in regeneration through creative arts. Stuart joined Making Music as Regional Development Officer for the Yorkshire Region in April 2007; a challenging role drawing on his diverse experience of amateur and professional music.
Stuart studied at Bretton Hall College, West Yorkshire, during the late 1970's and has since complemented his musical activities as a photographer and videographer. As a performer, he has sung in amateur staged musicals, choirs and madrigal groups as well as playing trumpet/cornet in a jazz band, brass bands, wind band and various sizes of orchestra. His conducting experience has been mainly with school orchestras and choirs, but has extended to the job of Musical Director (and sometimes composer) for a number of staged productions, often directing from the keyboard. By contrast, Stuart has played at London's Dorchester Hotel on several occasions at corporate events.
With an eclectic musical taste, Stuart enjoys an appreciation of all musical genres, although personal tolerance prevents him from listening to more than ten minutes of Gangsta Rap in one session!
Whilst becoming familiar with Making Music's support and music-making activities nationally, and in particular throughout the Yorkshire Region, Stuart is working closely with the Regional Committee to develop and deliver training and assistance to members, in pursuit of the Five Years, Five Aims agenda.
