Who is eligible to join Making Music? |
|

Anyone can join Making Music!
To become a full member, there are only really two requirements:
- You are somehow involved in live music making;
- You do it on an voluntary basis.
Full members need not be registered charities, but do need a formal constitution or set of rules that meet a number of particular requirements.
Associate Membership is for groups and individuals who would like to benefit from Making Music's services and activities but do not qualify for full membership. There are no specific requirements to become an associate member - any groups or individuals can join.
Whilst full and associate members pay the same subscription rates and receive the same wide range of services and opportunities.
- Full members enjoy lower insurance premiums for Making Music's block insurance scheme.
- Associate members do not have voting rights or access to some grant funds. |

Who are Making Music's members? |

Over 2500 performing and promoting groups comprise Making Music's membership. They range from small groups in villages and towns around the UK, to award-winning semi-professional choirs and orchestras in major urban centres. |

How can I get in contact with Making Music members? |

1. Mailing labels service
Making Music's Labels' Service provides mailing labels for you to contact Making Music music groups according to type of group in a specific geographical areas through your own individually targeted direct mailshot. To download the label service form with detailed information in .pdf format please click here. Otherwise contact the Making Music office on 020 7422 8280 or email info@makingmusic.org.uk.
There is a 50% discount on the fee for this service for member groups.
2. Advertising in Highnotes
Highnotes is the UK journal of Making Music, The National Federation of Music Societies, and is sent three times a year (August, December and April) to a growing mailing list of over 11,500 recipients involved in amateur music making.
Advertisement bookings in Highnotes are handled by Space Marketing who can be contacted on sales@spacemarketing.co.uk or 01892 677740.
3. Inserts in Highnotes
It is now possible to include your company's inserts in Highnotes mailings to reach over 12,500 recipients around the UK. For further details contact the Making Music Office on 020 7422 8280 or info@makingmusic.org.uk.
4. Exhibiting at Making Music UK Conference
The UK Conference is Making Music's largest event each year and attracts large numbers of delegates from across the whole country, including amateur musicians, music directors, professional soloists and arts administrators. An exhibition hall is made available for the entire weekend where delegates can find out more about other opportunities open to them in the music world. Spaces in the exhibition hall are often at a premium so emailing Sarah Rogers to book a place early will avoid disappointment. |
