Arthur and Gwyneth Harrison
Professional Development Programme |
This series of seminars forms part of the Making Music Awards for Artists. |
The course aims to enable students to develop the necessary skills needed to become a professional musician or find employment within the music sector. It is aimed at artistic high achieving students who are struggling both financially and practically, to give them the opportunity to meet their full potential as they launch their careers.
Selection process
Applications for this programme are considered alongside applications for the Philip & Dorothy Green Award for Young Concert Artists.
How to apply
Application forms will be available at the end of each year on this website. Candidates will be invited to audition in February (along with applicants for the Philip and Dorothy Green Award for Young Concert Artists), and short-listed candidates will also attend an interview in March.
Selection criteria
Particular emphasis will be placed upon students who are currently suffering from financial hardship and receive little financial assistance from either a public or private source.
The course structure
The programme begins in September for one year. Students have the opportunity to develop both their artistic and business skills through a series of three seminars, and will be expected to submit an assignment following each module.
As part of the programme, each candidate receives an opportunity to perform with a Making Music member group, with the fee covered by the scheme. If you would like to book one of these artists for a recital or solo engagement, get in touch!
