What did you miss?
The conference was a full-day event comprised of practical music workshops, speakers, breakout seminars and an afternoon concert featuring winners of the Philip and Dorothy Green Award. The main focus of the day was investing in the UK's musical future, aptly set in the inspiring surroundings of the Royal Northern College of Music.
Some of the highlights included:
- A debate on the future of the traditional chamber concert format
- A presentation and workshop by our new members BABS, featuring their bronze medal quartet This Way Up - come and try out four-part harmony singing for yourself!
- 'Show and tell' sessions by members who have managed a range of community outreach events involving their members
- New music commissioning, programming and performing: what you need to know
- A showcase concert by three of our outstanding new AYCA winners
