Making Music Awards, Bursaries and Prizes
Supporting outstanding talent and contribution
Throughout the year Making Music makes a number of awards, bursaries and prizes to individual musicians, groups and organisations in both the voluntary and professional sector.

Some of these, such as the Philip & Dorothy Green Award for Young Concert Artists and Composer in Residence, the Raymond Fox and Alfreda Hodgson Bursaries, are aimed at young professional musicians at the beginning of their careers. Others such as the Sir Charles Groves Prizes recognise lifelong contributions to the musical life of the UK.

We also partner with the Musicians Benevolent Fund and the St Martin's Chamber Music Competition to help promote a wide range of young award winning artists to complement our schemes.

Sir Charles Groves Prizes   Booking young artists
These are awarded annually to a Making Music member and professional British musician in recognition of outstanding contributions to British musical life.   We have extended the range of artists available to Making Music members for concert performances, through partnerships with the Musicians Benevolent Fund and St Martin-in-the-Fields.
Award for Young Concert Artists   Positive about Equal Opportunities
This Award enables young musicians to gain vital performance experience and Making Music member groups to programme some of the best young musical talent into their concert season.   Making Music's new "positive about equal opportunities" award provides a checklist for your member group to use to assess whether there are further steps you could take with regard to equal opportunities.
