The British Composer Awards celebrate the music of classical composers living and working in the UK and Northern Ireland. The BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year 2008 competition is now open for entries! To enter, you need to submit an eight-minute recording of your group before 18 November. The recording must have been made within the last 6 months.

Arts Council England has launched 'Take it Away', a new initiative that aims to make musical instruments and tuition more affordable for aspiring new musicians.
The scheme allows individuals to apply for a loan of up to £2,000 for the purchase of any kind of musical instrument, and pay it back in nine monthly instalments, completely interest free. |
