Music and Health in Notting Hill |

London RDO's Tom and Heather are pleased to report a hugely successful project undertaken with the Notting Hill Housing Trust, that resulted in member groups taking part in music workshops alongside leading professional animateurs Rachel Leach and Tim Yealland.
Following a healthy response to a call for volunteers to participate in the new Music and Health project in West London, members of the Nonesuch Orchestra and Addison Group of Singers received training in the genre then participated in sessions with the customers at the Elgin Resource Centre. As well as being key to delivering the final performance - music and movement based on the history of Shepherd's Bush - the volunteers earned £300 each for their member organisation.
An evaluation of the whole project is currently being written by Tom Deveson, and we hope to instigate more similar projects for our London members this year. |
