Arts sector hit by artist visa price increases
At a special Home Office meeting on 12 June, minister for immigration Liam Byrne told an arts taskforce that the £200 visa cost imposed since April would be reduced to £99 for artists not requiring a work permit to enter the UK.

Louise de Winter, director of the National Campaign for the Arts (NCA), said it 'establishes an important precedent that a negative economic impact on the arts can have an effect on how visa prices for artists are set and recognises the international environment in which artists work'.
