Why do we want your email address? |

Calling all Making Music Representatives |

From September 2007 we asked all member groups to supply a valid email addresses for their Making Music Representatives.
We believe it will be beneficial both to our members and to the operation of Making Music to have the ability to communicate with all MM Reps by email in addition to, and in some cases instead of, postal mailings. This will help us to:
- send you the most relevant information in the most timely way;
- increase your awareness of projects and services available to you through your membership;
- enable you easily to forward on information to other members of your committee and wider group;
- provide you with opportunities to feed back to us more effectively in different situations;
- improve the way we provide services to you through the website and allow you to find the resources of most benefit to you;
- improve the cost effectiveness of our communications thereby allowing us to invest in new and enhanced services.
This does not mean that we will no longer send you printed communications and information!
We have identified a number of areas where email will either replace or enhance existing communications, but some channels, eg Highnotes and the young artists brochure, will remain completely print-based.
You will also have the option to select certain areas of interest which you would particularly like to be kept up to date with - so this is partly a way of helping us send communications we think are important to you, and partly a way for you to opt in to special areas of interest.
What if you are a Making Music Representative and don't have an email address?
There are two options that may easily be open to you: you could nominate another individual with email to receive any such communications on your behalf; or another committee member with email could take on this role. If neither of these options is feasible, and you are worried about what to do, please let us know.
We have just launched our email bulletin iNotes as well as a number of regional bulletins giving information and news pertinent to you in your area. we hope you are already enjoying and benefitting from these, but in the mean time if you have any questions please contact us.
