Choir Wars - Call for Application |

We are very excited to announce that the BBC is now inviting choirs from around the UK to enter their Choir Wars competition!
As mentioned in the first issue of iNotes in January, BBC ONE is launching a brand new Saturday night entertainment show showcasing some of Britain's best amateur choirs. They now want to hear from choirs of all musical genres including classical, gospel, barbershop, pop, a cappella, folk, rock and more.
'Whether you belong to a chorus of angels, a bevy of beatboxers or a big band of barbershoppers we want to hear from you. From Beyonce to Beethoven, Green Day to Gospel, the glitter balls will be out in force and you and your choir could be the stars.'(BBC Choir Wars)
Choirs must have a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 50 people (excluding one choir leader) and all members must be 13 years and above.
If you are not sure about whether to take the time to enter this competition, just remember that Making Music members, Chantage, were BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year in 2006!
Please check out www.bbc.co.uk/choirwars where you can download posters and access the Choir Wars application form. Choirs will need to get their entries to the BBC as soon as possible to avoid missing out on the competition deadline - Friday 18th April 2008 at 6pm.
Auditions will be held between Friday 9th and Sunday 11th May 2008.
