Play to the Nation
Want to be heard on Radio 3?
BBC Radio 3 and Making Music have teamed up to offer member orchestras the possibility of broadcasting some performances as part of a new project called Play to the Nation. We hope that this will raise awareness of the richness and diversity of amateur orchestral activity in the UK and provide a high-profile showcase.

If you have a recording of your orchestra (on CD), which was made in the last 12 months, please send it to us, along with a few extra details on the form that you can download by clicking here. And if there is an interesting story behind the recording, please tell us.

A selection of recordings will be featured on BBC Radio 3, on Performance on 3, during the month of October 2008.

We're looking forward to hearing you!

Pianothon!

As part of our 'Play to the Nation' season this Autumn, celebrating amateur music-making in the UK, BBC Radio 3 is inviting amateur pianists to attend events across the country and play their piece in an informal and fun concert environment. Soloists, duettists, family and friends all invited. Selections of the event will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 to showcase the range of talent across the UK.

Everyone is welcome. All ages, all standards (from Grade I upwards), all kinds of music from classical to jazz.
