Australian soprano Valda Wilson is a recent graduate of the National Opera Studio London and studies with Lillian Watson and Yvonne Kenny. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Sydney University and a Diploma of Opera from Sydney Conservatorium. Valda was a 2008 Young Artist with Pacific Opera and won Opera Foundation Australia's 2008-09 Rockend NOS Scholarship.

Valda's concert and radio performances range from Bach and Handel to modern Australian composers such as Graeme Koehne and Anne Boyd. Operatic experience includes Rosina Il barbiere di Siviglia (Opera Australia Schools Company), Susanna Le nozze di Figaro (Weimar Volkstheater), Mlle Silberklang Der Schauspieldirektor (NOS), and Rosina La vera costanza, Geraldine A Hand of Bridge, Amore Paride ed Elena and Susan A Dinner Engagement (all for Sydney Conservatorium Opera).

Valda was a finalist in the Concours de Geneve 2009, and a semifinalist in Placido Domingo's Operalia 2009. In 2010 she will perform in concert at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Henley Festival, Classic Night 2010 Verein Opera Zurich, and play Adina L'elisir d'amore (Riverside Opera), before joining the Junges Ensemble der Semperoper Dresden for the 2010-11 season.
