Raymond Fox & Alfreda Hodgson Bursaries
Making Music runs two bursaries to assist young musicians with further training. Applications are invited from musicians who are nearing the end of their college course, and who intend to follow a performing career. Please note neither bursary will fund undergraduate study.  
The Raymond Fox Bursary

In memory of a previous Chairman of the National Federation of Music Societies, this bursary is awarded every other year to a young instrumentalist.

The award will next be be presented in 2010. Candidates will be considered alongside applications for the Philip & Dorothy Green Award. Auditions will take place between 1-5 February 2010 at the Royal Academy of Music, London. Application forms are now available by clicking here.

The Alfreda Hodgson Bursary

This bursary is awarded every other year to a young singer in memory of the celebrated contralto Alfreda Hodgson.

This award will next be be presented in February 2011. Candidates will be considered alongside applications for the Philip & Dorothy Green Award.
