Communication with our member groups is important to us. We aim to ensure that every member has a named person within Making Music Scotland with whom they can be in touch for support and advice. You can find out who your group's contact is by consulting the Register of Members which you'll find in the Members' Area.
Ask us a question
If you need help with a specific problem or have a question relating to any of the services we offer, please drop us an email. You'll find addresses for key Committee personnel on the Contact Us page and full contact details for all Committee members in the Members' Area.
Tell us what you're doing
We take an interest in our members' activities and are always keen to learn of any special projects or events. Keep us up to date either through your named contact or visit the Contact Us page to email a specific post-holder on the Committee. Why not offer an article for our Making Music Scotland Newsletter? Our Editor, Janet Darling, will be happy to hear from you.
Cluster groups
Making Music Scotland is in the process of organising 'clusters' of member groups in areas around Scotland, to give groups the opportunity to meet together to discuss issues of importance and local interest as well as an opportunity to meet with Making Music Scotland staff and volunteers. Over the past two years we have piloted such meetings for groups in Fife, Aberdeen, Paisley Ayrshire & Clyde Coast, Edinburgh and Stirling & Falkirk. Overall, the meetings have been successful, are very informal and recently have included a ‘hands on’ IT and website session. We are now working on expanding the process across Scotland.
With over 230 member groups across all local authority areas this will take time, but we will be inviting all groups to join a cluster. Please do respond positively when you receive your invitation regardless of the type of group you are – it is part of the process of keeping you informed and also of enabling you to share, and hopefully resolve, issues of common interest.
To find out if there's a group in your area, or if you are interested in helping to set up a new group, contact the co-ordinator Jean Renno.
