Volunteer team
Our team of volunteers is being created to provide support for members across the West of England. We’d love to hear from you if you can offer a few hours a week to help develop music making in the region.

Since July 2011, the Making Music West team, made up of volunteers from across the area and led by the Regional Leader Anne Shepherd, has been ably supported by our Transition Manager Micaela Schmitz. During November 2011, Stuart Isaac was appointed to the post of Regional Manager with overall regional responsibility. Stuart is working with a growing volunteer team, many of whom are from Making Music member groups.
Our volunteer team will comprise three main groups:
- the support team who have defined roles and provide core support to the Regional Leader and Transition Manager
- the area volunteers, located mostly by county across the region
- the project volunteers who take on specific tasks as requested by the leadership for example managing a project or undertaking research
The team will communicate mainly by phone and email but meet from time to time when necessary.
Our team can provide you with as much support as you need. This may be by:
- answering a simple query by phone or email
- providing more specialised advice that may take us a while to research and answer
- or by making a visit to your committee meeting or concert for a specific purpose
We're currently on the lookout for keen people to join our team of volunteers. If you are able to commit a few hours each week to helping develop music making in the region then we'd love to hear from you. You may visit our Volunteer Recruitment page here.
