Who we are

Making Music West combines our West Midlands and North West regions to cover the West of England from Cumbria to Worcestershire and Merseyside to Coventry.

Making Music Choirs at Verdi Requiem Big Sing 2008 (c) Lindsey WilsonAs of 1 July 2011 the Making Music West Midlands and North West regions merged to form Making Music West, which supports groups in Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside, Herefordshire, Shropshire (and Telford & Wrekin), Staffordshire (and Stoke-on Trent), Warwickshire, Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Solihull, Wolverhampton, Walsall and Sandwell and Worcestershire.

Making Music West is now concluding its period of administrative transition with the appointment of Regional Manager Stuart Isaac. Thanks go to Anne Shepherd who has been the voluntary Regional Leader for many months. Thanks also to Micaela Schmitz, previously regional Development Officer for the West Midlands and more recently Transition Manager for the West region.Stuart will be working closely with Micaela and Anne until the end of 2011 to ensure continuity as the regional team develops.

Your Making Music West team provides support and help to member groups by:

  • maintaining contact with and supporting member groups in the region

  • organising meetings and training events

  • publishing ebulletins and other resources
  • representing members' interests to local and national government and other arts bodies

Volunteer team
Our team of volunteers is being created to provide support for members across the West of England. We’d love to hear from you if you can offer a few hours a week to help develop music making in the region.
