The Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) is a new legal structure which is being introduced to provide some of the benefits of being a company, but without some of the burdens.

The SCIO is a new legal structure for registered charities in Scotland. It provides limited liability and separate legal identity to organisations which do not wish to incorporate fully.
