Commissioning new music
Thinking about commissioning a work to be written specially for your group? We can help.
Last modified on: 03/02/2011
Anyone who has experienced the buzz of sharing a performance premiere will know how exciting it can be to have a work written with you in mind. Commissioning can stretch your members, play to your strengths, and offer new experiences.
Entering the world of commissioning can seem a little daunting. Making Music can help with a suite of information about the commissioning process, how to go about attracting funding for new commissions, and what other groups have done in similar situations. We also have some resources specifically aimed at helping you commission: see our Adopt a Composer scheme and find out about composers working with other amateur music groups in the UK.
