What is the difference between Public liability and Personal accident insurance?

Last modified on: 15/04/2011

Public Liability insurance provides cover for bodily injuries to volunteers and employees for which the group is legally liable regardless of age.

Personal Accident insurance cover applies for injuries to members aged between 16-75 (unless your schedule states otherwise) who suffer accidents/injuries whilst carrying out the group's activities (regardless of the group's legal liability) which result in death, permanent disablement or temporary disablement.

NB volunteers are considered in the same way as employees for the purposes of insurance.
