Membership and insurance are effective from January until December each year.
We sent renewal packs to Treasurers of all our member organisations on 15 November, with an invitation to renew membership and insurance for 2012, and also make any declarations of royalties payable to PRS for Music.
Insurance
Ecclesiastical also sent an insurance renewal pack to all members with insurance policies on 15 November.
How to renew membership and insurance
1. You can renew your 2012 membership and insurance and make any PRS for Music declarations or royalty payments in two ways. Either:
a) You can renew your membership and insurance and pay royalty fees online. Click on the 'Renew membership' link in the menu to the left of this page. You will need to be logged in to access this facility (and register first if you have not done so already). Follow the links to renew membership for your group. Treasurers or Making Music Representatives can do this online. You can pay by credit or debit card, by bank transfer or by cheque; OR
b) Complete the enclosed Annual Payment Form (APF), which was sent to your Treasurer, as indicated and return by post, enclosing your cheque.
2. Refer to your insurance policy schedule from Ecclesiastical for information on the insurance premium due and enter this in the relevant box on your APF or when requested during the online renewal wizard.
3. When renewing please check and update details (including email address) we hold for you, your Making Music Representative, and other key positions in your organisation such as Chair, Librarian, Secretary, Music Director and Concert Organiser.
4. If you wish to make any changes to insurance cover, or if your group has changed its membership category from last year, please contact Ecclesiastical directly on 08457 773322 and they will advise you of your updated premium.
5. Calculate your PRS for Music royalty payment. See reverse of the APF for details and visit www.makingmusic.org.uk/prs for PRS FAQs and to download PRS slips. See below for notes about PRS for Music.
6. Return your completed payment form with cheque payable to Making Music no later than Friday 16 December to allow for processing your insurance renewal before your policy expires on 31 December.
Performing rights
At the same time we ask you to make your declarations of performances of copyright music given in unlicensed venues during the year before, and enable you to pay any corresponding royalty fees along with your membership subscription and insurance premium.
Payment
All three sets of charges are made in a single payment to Making Music, ensuring you are up to date for the following year.
