In this way, we have made some extraordinary things happen, and are frequently invited to advise on or take part in other organisations' initiatives too.

For example, working with Classic FM we created 123sing!; we worked with BBC Radio 3 to develop Listen Up, Play to the Nation, Play it Again and in 2011 Light Fantastic; with Sound and Music and the PRS for Music Foundation we created our Adopt a Composer scheme; with Choir of the Year and the British Association of Barbershop Singers we established our highly successful Learn to Sing courses; and we collaborated with the BBC Performing Arts Fund to run the Choral Ambition programme of grants for choirs. Making Music is committed to supporting other charities and in 2011 we have two official charity partnerships with the Musicians Benevolent Fund and CLIC Sargent.

We've also worked with non-arts partners in a range of initiatives, working with organisations such as the British Lung Foundation, Marie Curie Cancer Care and British Telecom. Our doors are always open to people with ideas for collaborations or opportunities for member groups. Whether large or small, sensible or outrageous, we welcome the opportunity to share your thoughts.
