Multum In Parvo
Rutland Concert Band will present a story of Rutland’s past, present and future inspired by the children who live there and based on the county’s motto 'Multum In Parvo' meaning much in little.
Last modified on: 15/02/2012
School choirs will sing celebratory works, dance groups will interpret key moments in Rutland’s history and Rutland Concert Band will complement these with a diverse musical accompaniment. The main focus of the evening will be the première of a specially composed musical work based on poems entitled Multum In Parvo that have been written by local school children. The concert finale will be a collaborative performance of this work, incorporating all performers.
This project aims to inspire others, particularly young people, and unite people through music. Rutland Concert Band has performed and organised numerous concerts. This will be the first time that they have brought together and performed with local schools and dance groups to create a truly collaborative performance that celebrates the local area. This will include the première of their first commissioned work specially composed for this performance. Rutland Concert Band is open to all with the main criteria being enthusiasm, commitment and a passion to do one’s best.
