Watch a training film for musical directors

The piece is approximately 15 minutes long and flexibly scored groups of various genres. A training session took place for participating MDs with Richard Frostick, Orlando Gough and the BBC Singers in London in November. A film has been made of this masterclass as an educational tool to help MDs to adapt the piece for use with their groups.

Listen to the individual vocal parts

BBC Singers logoThe BBC Singers perform the Making Music Overture
Conductor: Adrian Peacock
Recording Engineer: Adele Conlin
Recorded at BBC Maida Vale Studios

These four recordings allow you to listen to the four vocal parts individually. On track 1 you will hear the soprano part, on track 2 the alto, on track 3 the tenor, and on track 4 the bass. On each track you should be able to hear the individual vocal part a bit louder than everything else. If you can’t hear the individual vocal part, or if you can hear the vocal part and nothing else, please check your sound setup. You might need to raise the level of either the left or the right hand channel in a stereo setup.
