Helensburgh Orchestral Society

Helensburgh Orchestral Society is an excellent, dynamic but very friendly amateur orchestra which plays a range of classical and modern music under the baton of Robert Baxter. The orchestra meets once a week at the Victoria Halls, Helensburgh from September through to May/June and usually performs 3 concerts a year. Recent special projects included a collaboration with Dance House, and a lockdown commission for online Zoom performance, released on 31st October. The orchestra is always looking for new members of approximately Grade 5 standard or equivalent, especially strings (violin, viola, and double bass) and lower brass. Please contact the secretary in the first instance.
