O God, our help in ages past

The concert features works associated with Royal events (the coronation anthem "I was glad", the great "Jerusalem", and "Blest pair of sirens", sung at the Marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, well-known hymns (including "Abide with me" and "Dear Lord and Father of mankind"), and his final masterpiece, written in response to the tragedy of the First World War, "Songs of Farewell".

The Choir are delighted to welcome members of the Northampton Bach Choir to join them for this concert, and guest organist Ivan Linford, who will also perform Parry's masterpiece for organ solo - the Fantasia and Fugue in G.

The warm acoustics and candlelit atmosphere of St Mary's Church in Godmanchester provide a perfect backdrop for this concert which takes us from Royalty to Remembrance.
