"Make we Mirthe". A fusion of songs, stories, dance tunes and improvisation for the festive season. London-based Joglaresa – the UK’s busiest medieval ensemble – will present a stonkingly enjoyable evening of medieval, folk and world music.
Directed by Belinda Sykes, this London-based ensemble has been playing since 1992. Now well-established, they are particularly interesting for the way in which they imaginatively push, and often transcend, the limits of what is often thought of as early music. Blowing the dust off medieval song and bringing seasonal cheer to Yuletide, Joglaresa’s Christmas concerts are a constantly inventive romp through the carols of Christmas Past - using medieval and folk song as a springboard for their creativity. With fidel, harp, bells, bagpipes and voices Joglaresa ring in Christmas and New Year.
