England in the Summer

Brighton Consort (director James Dixon) will be presenting a programme of choral music entitled “England in the Summer” on Saturday June 23rd (7.30 p.m.) in St Peter’s Church, Henfield.

 

The concert will feature a variety of madrigals, lute songs and part-songs from across the centuries, including works by the 16th century composers William Byrd and Robert Parsons, several beautiful songs by Edward Elgar, and Stanford’s famous “The Bluebird”. The choir will be joined by renowned London-based soloists Gwen Martin (soprano) and Jamie Akers (lute). If you can’t make this date the concert is being repeated on Sunday June 24th (6.00 p.m.) in St Paul’s Church, West St., Brighton.
