Make We Mirth - Joglaresa

Stonkingly enjoyable medieval, folk and world music from this London-based ensemble.

Joglaresa’s performances include the Aldeburgh Festival, York Early Music Festival, London's Lufthansa Festival, the Queen Elizabeth Hall (London), St David's Hall (Cardiff), London's Barbican Centre, Sana'a & Aden (Yemen), Brezice Early Music Festival (Slovenia), Istanbul, Amsterdam International Festival of Jewish Music, Chinchilla Early Music Festival; tours in Germany, Belgium, Italy and Holland and numerous radio broadcasts - the world over...

Using no mirth-control Joglaresa will blow the dust off medieval song and romp through Christmas Past - with medieval and folk song as a springboard for their invention.  With fidel, harp, bells, bagpipes, dulcimer and voices Joglaresa will ring in Christmas and New Year.  Directed by Belinda Sykes (voice and bagpipes) the group also includes Angela Hicks (voice and harp) Lea Cornthwaite (voice, gittern and castanets) May Robertson (fidel and voice) and Louisa Anna Duggan (percussion, dulcimer and voice).

You can look forward to hearing Joglaresa’s newly-composed carols such as A Lovely Rose and a mashup of rapper Flo Rida's You Spin My Head Round with a medieval motet, and also Blow, Blow thou Winter Wind by Orlando Gough.

With fidel, harp, bells, bagpipes, dulcimer and voices Joglaresa ring in Christmas and New Year.  This will be an evening not to be missed.

The venue bar will be open before the performance and during the interval.
