Chorleywood Choral Society, led by Musical Director Graham Wili, will perform the ever-popular choral work Mozart’s Requiem in St Mary’s Church, Watford on Saturday 18th April. Following a major refurbishment of the 800 year old Grade1 listed church, this will be an exciting whilst moving concert staged in the modernised church following its rededication in June 2019.
The choir is delighted to be able to sing alongside local resident, Mezzo-Soprano soloist Christine Rice. Chorleywood residents may recall Christine starring in the St. Clement Danes school’s performance of Verdi’s Requiem at the Watford Colosseum in July 2016. That same summer, she was also the headline soloist at the BBC’s Last Night of the Proms. Christine will perform alongside 3 other world class soloists, soprano Mary Nelson, tenor Rhodin Prys Evans and baritone Simon Thorpe.
In addition to the Requiem, there will be choral works composed by Bach (Cantata No. 33), Haydn (Insanae et Vanae Curae) and Mozart (Laudate Dominum).
