CONCERT: “AS YOU LIKE IT” 18 JANUARY 2020
Swing with Shakespeare!
Cockermouth Harmonic Society’s January 2020 concert, As You Like It, will charm you with its blend of sparkling lyrics and fascinating music.
With well-known words from Shakespeare, turned into songs by composers such as George Shearing, Bob Chilcott and Cockermouth’s Philip Wood, we offer an evening of visions of Spring, the countryside, and love in delightful settings. It is just the thing to chase the winter blues away.
Ian Wright will conduct the choir, bass soloist, Paul Im Thurn, and pianist, Amanda Wright.
The concert will take place at the United Reformed Church, Main Street, Cockermouth at 7.30pm on 18 January 2020.
Tickets for the concert will cost £14, £13 from members of the choir, but are free for full-time students, and there is a discount for parties of 6 or more. Note to Editors: Cockermouth Harmonic Society is the largest adult choir in Cockermouth with some 50 singing members. The choir performs the major choral repertoire, some new works, and has a professional musical director and accompanist.
