Collegium Singers present a concert of exultant sacred music dedicated to the Holy Spirit, culminating in Vierne's Messe Solennelle. Music of the Spirit begins with Patrick Gower's joyful Veni Sancte Spiritus before the darkness of Byrd and MacMillan's settings of Factus Est Repente. Two epic cornerstones, Elgar's The Spirit of the Lord and Tallis's Loquebantur Variis Linguis are contrasted with three settings from North America by Runestad, Thompson, and Canada's much-beloved Ruth Watson Henderson.
This is an evening of musical treasures not to be missed.
