A Ceremony of Carols

The Dalgarno Singers, are busy preparing for their Christmas Concert, which takes place in
Penpont Church on Wednesday 12th December, at 7.30pm.

Music Director, Rory McLatchie said, ‘I’m very much looking forward to conducting Benjamin Britten’s
‘A Ceremony of Carols’, originally written for upper voices, but has since been arranged for mixed voices,
and forms the main theme of our Christmas concert.

‘Our audience will be in for a treat with an interesting programme of Christmas music: some well-known
pieces such as Ding Dong Merrily On High and Once in Royal David’s City, plus an arrangement of three
pieces that everyone will know, by Alexander L’Estrange, just to get you in the festive mood!’

The Dalgarno Singers, which has recently welcomed some new members to the Choir, will end this year’s
concert with a beautiful piece called ‘A Christmas Blessing’ by Northern Irish Composer Philip Stopford.

Tickets are available from any member of the Dalgarno Singers (or via the website www.dalgarnosingers.co.uk),
priced at £10 per adult, and free to Students and accompanied school children.

Festive refreshments are included and will be served after the concert.
