AN EVENING with HARRY THE PIANO & Friends

Harry the Piano’s unique cabaret show was ‘born’ in Horsham and has now headlined at venues all over the world from the the Albert Hall, London to the Adelaide Festival, Holders Festival Barbados and the Manasterly Palace Cairo. For classical audiences he has performed for over 50 concert societies. More recently he has been musical director for Alexander Armstrong on the ITV ‘Christmas Special’  and performed at private audiences with HM the Queen at Sandringham and Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace. Jill Elsworthy studied singing at the Royal Academy of Music with Mary Jarred, one of the original 16 singers in Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music. She has been soloist in perfomances of most of the standard oratorios and has given many recitals of English Song and Lieder. In recent years she has been exploring the lighter repertoire which she had heard as a child and enjoying the nostalgia!    Edward Dean, currently Organist at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Street, London, is a graduate of the Royal College of Music, London and the Eastman School of Music, Rochester NY,USA. He has held positions at the Anglican Church in Oslo, the American Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Paris and St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street, London. He has given recitals at Southwark Cathedral, Westminster Cathedral and the London Handel Festival at St George’s Church, Hanover Square.

Harry presents numbers from his acclaimed show, including the popular request set ‘any tune in any style’. Jill Elsworthy is accompanied by Harry in popular melodies from the 30s and 40s, and by Edward Dean in songs by Peter Warlock, John Ireland and Percy Grainger. Edward Dean also contributes piano works by Peter Warlock.
