Join members of the Ipswich Choral Society for a truly amazing experience. Accompanied by professional period instrument ensemble Vivace! and wonderful young soloists from the Royal Academy of Music in London, we will rehearse and perform Handel's great oratorio “Messiah” - all in one day!
Everyone is welcome, whether it's your first time trying a choir or you have lots of experience - it's all about having a great time singing together.
The day begins with rehearsal time led by Robin Walker, ICS Music Director and well-known choral conductor, to prepare each choral piece and gain tips on how to sing well. After a break for tea, we will perform highlights from “Messiah” accompanied by our world-class players and soloists, all in the comfortable and modern surroundings of Suffolk One.
We will use the Novello Edition of Messiah (ISBN 978-0-85360-211-8), edited by Watkins Shaw. If you don't have your own score we can provide one for you.
