April sees three consecutive Festival days at the Dorking Halls, each consisting of competitions between four of our member choirs in the morning, and a combined concert sung by the four choirs in the evening. It is a rousing event as hundreds of voices join in rendition of powerful works scattered with a selection of rare but beautiful works including madrigals, part songs, etc. This event is a discovery as you will be entertained to some of the best rarely-performed short classical pieces before the highlight.
The choirs are joined by professional soloists and orchestra for what can only be described as a feast of purely amazing music led by our Festival Conductor, Jonathan Willcocks.
Main headline pieces of the nights this year include:
Thurdsay 12: Elgar's 'The Kingdom'
Friday 13: Will Todd's 'Mass in Blue'
Saturday 14: Vaughan Williams' 'Five Mystical Songs'
