Fauré's 'Requiem'

The East of England Singers present a concert of Fauré, Bach and more!

Focussing on eternal rest and consolation, Fauré’s exquisite Requiem is one of the best loved works of the choral repertoire. Written as a musical tribute to his father, beautiful melodies and ravishing harmonies create a work of peace and serenity.

By contrast, the genius of Bach, Haydn and Beethoven is distilled into three ‘miniatures’. Characteristic of each composer’s style, these motets show them at their very best.

The Performers: East of England Singers One of the leading chamber choirs in the East Midlands, the East of England Singers have a busy concert schedule performing works across the full choral range. The choir’s refreshingly dynamic and committed performances have brought both critical and public acclaim.

The singers excelled … conveying beautifully the range of moods and the close marrying of text and setting. Graeme Whitehead – Nottingham Evening Post
